About The Con
The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music Inc. (CCCM) is a leader in music education and performance and the principal provider of music education on the NSW Central Coast.
We deliver quality musical education services that support grassroots learning through to professional practice. Our vision is to inspire artistry on the Central Coast, and to contribute to the culture, lifestyle and development of the community.
We are located in the CBD of Gosford in a recently refurbished historic building overlooking Brisbane Water; funded by lesson fees, sponsorship, and donations, with additional funding from the NSW Government; and have more than 50 teachers on staff who deliver private and group lessons to close to 1,000
students with ensembles that feed the regional symphony, choirs and bands. Our alumni have gone on to national and international careers.
CCCM has been used for rehearsals and performances by various community groups, is the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Central Coast Examination Centre, and plays an important role in the cultural development of our region.
CCCM is a community-based organisation and member of The Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums.
All of our employees and Board members have completed their Working With Children Check (WWCC) and complete annual training on child safety. Our Child Safe policy can be found HERE.
The Con was established in 1983 as one of the NSW Conservatorium of Music’s Regional Music Centres, teaching classes out of the old Gosford Primary School plumbing workshop. However, over the next 5 years student and teacher numbers grew exponentially, and it was clear that a larger, more permanent building was needed.
In 1987 The Centre found its new home in the old Police Station and Courthouse, and in 1993 its name was registered as Central Coast Conservatorium Inc.
